FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

39th Annual All Star Labor Classic Set for April 12 at Holy Family University
Philadelphia’s premier high school all-star showcase continues to unite elite athletes and community impact

Philadelphia, PA — The 39th Annual All Star Labor Classic will take place on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Holy Family University, bringing together some of the top high school basketball talent from across the Greater Philadelphia region for a day of competition, community, and purpose.

Organized by the Philadelphia Building Trades Council, the All Star Labor Classic has become one of the region’s most anticipated annual events—showcasing elite student-athletes while supporting meaningful causes.

This year, the event has raised over $250,000 in support of The Superhero Project Inc., a local nonprofit dedicated to helping families with babies in neonatal intensive care units (NICU). In addition, participating players have collectively raised more than $10,000, giving them a direct connection to the event’s mission and reinforcing the importance of giving back to their community.

Each selected student-athlete will also receive a $1,000 college scholarship, further emphasizing the event’s commitment to supporting both the athletic and academic futures of these young leaders.

“This event represents everything we stand for—opportunity, community, and purpose,” said Ryan N. Boyer, Business Manager of the Philadelphia Building Trades Council. “These young men and women are not only exceptional athletes, but they are leaders who have stepped up to support families in need. Raising over $250,000 for The Superhero Project shows the power of what we can accomplish together. This is more than basketball—this is about building a stronger community.”

The event will feature City vs. Suburbs matchups, highlighting many of the top players in the region, with full team rosters attached. Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker is expected to attend, underscoring the significance of the event within the city.

In addition to the all-star games, fans can look forward to a special Labor vs. Legends Exhibition Game, featuring local union officials competing against former Big 5 players—celebrating both the city’s rich basketball tradition and its strong labor community.

The selection of players is guided by a distinguished committee, including legendary coach Phil Martelli, ensuring a high level of competition and recognition for deserving athletes.

Admission is free, and the community is encouraged to attend and support these outstanding student-athletes. The full game day schedule is included in the attached materials.
